How do u change a tyre without damaging it?
« Thread Started on Nov 28, 2006, 2:07pm »

Well this is prolly a simple one, but I'm gonna ask it anyways.

We thought we might buy a set of tyre levers so we can change our own tyres....but when we try getting the tyre over the rim when it gets tight, we keep damaging the rubber around the bead and can't get it to seel when we pump it up coz some of the rubber has come off.

We've tried using shitloads of dishwashing liquid as lube but still doesn't work.

I got so pissed off that I took the tyre leavers back, but I wouldn't mind going and buying them again coz I really wanna be able to change my own tyres without damaging them. We can still put a tube in them, but I don't wanna have to do that with all the tyres we change.

Anyone know how it's gotta be done?

Cheers,
Danny.

Just buy a tyre changing machine off ebay, I did, only cost me $280.
Only thing is that I wouldnt put my nice alloy wheels on it, but for burnout tyres it works a treat.
I can change a tyre on the rim in a few minutes now.
